The Obsidium Shuffle Revisited 4.3

I have heard from a lot of sources that the Obsidium shuffle was dead so I set my alerts from TheUndermineJournal to notify me when a single Obsidium ore was lower than 2 gold. About 6 hours later I got an email and picked 144 stacks of Obsidium ore for 31 gold 40 silver a stack; a total of 4,521 gold 60 silver, with my iPhone. I added screenshots so you could see what I saw the day of but mainly to back up what I am talking about and cut the trolls off at the necks.

I prospected it all and ended up with:

129 x Alicite
128 x Carnilean
145 x Hessonite
148 x Jasper
152 x Nightstone
160 x Zephyrite

I also ended up with a handful of rare gems that I will cut and sell. For the sake of argument, I am just going to use the value of them as uncut.

5 x Amberjewel
9 x Demonseye
5 x Dream Emerald
5 x Ember Topaz
4 x Inferno Ruby
9 x Ocean Sapphire

Next thing I did was craft everything I could into the Jewelcrafting pieces and disenchanted them all and had ended up with the following;

555 x Hypnotic Dust
30 x Heavenly Shards
143 x Greater Celestial Essences

There isn’t anything to do with the Zephyrite except to sell them in stacks of 3 on the days they are needed for the Jewelcrafting Daily and typically they go for 15 gold per 3 stack.

If I were just to sell the mats and raw gems I would make about;

6,147 gold 57 silver for the Greater Celestial Essences
1,548 gold 45 silver for the Hypnotic Dusts
3,108 gold for the Heavenly Shards
800 gold for the Zephyrite
38 gold 15 silver for the Amberjewel
306 gold 90 silver for the Demonseye
33 gold 25 silver for the Dream Emerald
215 gold for the Ember Topaz
400 gold for the Inferno Ruby
44 gold 82 silver for the Ocean Sapphire

That puts my revenue at 12,642 gold 14 silver and my profit after investment at 8120 gold 51 silver.

I use a spreadsheet to figure my threshold to purchase the ore so I am sure it will be worth my time. You can download it here, I left all the data from this market sample but you can put your own servers’ numbers in and see what yours is.

If you want to take it further and have an Enchanter you can look up profitable scrolls on your server and us the mats you collected to make scrolls but that’s up to you here are some of the good ones on my server.

The Obsidium shuffle doesn’t look dead to me how about you?!

Bracer Enchant Market in 4.2

My gold tip for episode #5 of Rep Grind Radio was based on this 81 rare mob, Poseidus . Reins of Poseidus is a 100% drop chance along with any of the following bracer enchants;

Formula: Enchant Bracer – Might intellect (1.4% chance)
Formula: Enchant Bracer – Agility (1.4% chance)
Formula: Enchant Bracer – Major Strength (1.4% chance)

The bracer enchants will sell very well with the addition of all of the Valor point bracers introduced in 4.2. These aren’t the only 3 enchants that are selling but they are the ones going for the most the majority of the time. Below is a list of all of the Enchants that I sell on a regular basis since the introduction of the VP bracers and the mats each one requires.

Enchant Bracer – Exceptional Spirit (505 Enchanting) – Trainer

9 x Hypnotic Dust
3 x Greater Celestial Essence

Enchant Bracer – Greater Expertise (505 Enchanting) – Trainer

4 x Hypnotic Dust
6 x Greater Celestial Essence

Enchant Bracer – Agility (515 Enchanting) – Drop

Enchant Bracer – Major Strength (515 Enchanting) – Drop

Enchant Bracer – Mighty Intellect (515 Enchanting) – Drop

Enchant Bracer – Greater Critical Strike (525 Enchanting) – Vendor

Enchant Bracer – Greater Speed (525 Enchanting) – Vendor

Here is a screen shot of a shopping list I set up in Auctionator to give me a good look at all the Cataclysm enchanting mats.

Another list I use in Auctionator is one that shows me all of the Bracer enchants so I know which ones to post and also just to see how much the market is saturated with each one as well.

Now like I said above, the best selling and most valuable enchanting recipes can be dropped by an 81 rare mob, Poseidus, and they are BoE. This means you may be able to just buy the Formula instead of farm a mob for it, like I did. This mob also drops a lot of other things that can be sold on the auction house so if you don’t get the formula you may still make a fair amount farming him anyway.

All in all, the way I track and monitor this market is very similar to how I track and monitor all of the markets I participate in so take not of the structure as well as the content and see if it’s a system that you may find useful as well.

Enchant Cloak: Major Agility

The Enchant Cloak – Major Agility is in contention for Best in Slot back enchant for Feral Druids, Rogues, Enhancement Shamans, and Survival Hunters. There are other enchants that will work for these classes such as Enchant Cloak – Greater Critical Strike, but many of them value agility over crit.

Something that you may be noticing is that there is a scarcity of Wrath enchanting mats on the auction house and when there is some up there they want an arm and a leg for them. So here are some good places to get the mats for cheap. You can either get into the Enchant Cloak – Major Agility market or just sell these mats out right.
